Anti-Aging Fact Or Fiction? We Tell The Truth!

Today we’re setting the record straight once and for all.

1. Age is an important factor to consider when shopping for skincare products. There are so many products out there that claim to be for a specific age group, especially for “mature” women over 50 years old. The truth? Your routine should be based on how sun-damaged, oily, dry, acne-prone or sensitive your skin is. The one thing that everyone does need to incorporate into their skincare routine? A moisturizer containing SPF 30 or higher.

2. You should switch up your skincare products every few months because your skin adapts. Skincare products will never be ineffective just because of continued use. The reason why the product’s efficacy appears to lessen is because your skin may have improved since you first started using it. This just means it’s working as intended!

3. Dark spots only occur as you age. While some mature women may have more dark spots than their younger counterparts, it is only because they have been exposed to the sun for quite a few more years. Dark spots are a consequence of being directly in the sun – especially on body parts like your face, neck, décolletage and hands.
